Medical gloves are medical devices
Surgical and examination gloves are regulated medical devices. They must be selected, stored, worn and disposed of according to the instructions for use supplied with the product and according to the infection-control protocol of the institution using them. The information on this website is a general description written to help you choose a product. It is not a substitute for the instructions for use, and it is not clinical, medical or professional advice.
Decisions about which glove is appropriate for a given procedure, patient or hazard rest with the qualified professional making them. Nothing on this site should be relied on in place of that judgement, or in place of your own risk assessment.
Natural rubber latex
Several BerrySure products are made from natural rubber latex. Natural rubber latex contains proteins that can cause allergic reactions, including skin irritation, respiratory symptoms and, in rare cases, severe systemic reactions, in sensitised individuals. Powdered latex gloves can also carry latex proteins on the powder into the air.
If you, your staff or your patients are or may be sensitive to natural rubber latex, choose a latex-free alternative such as our nitrile range, and follow your institution’s latex policy. If a reaction occurs, stop use and seek medical advice.
Single use, and sterility
Our gloves are single-use products. Do not re-use, re-process or re-sterilise them. Sterile products are sterile only while their pouch is intact and unopened, and only until the expiry date printed on the pack. Do not use a product whose packaging is damaged, opened or past its expiry date. Gloves are not a guarantee against infection or against permeation by every chemical — they are one control among several.
Specifications and standards
Figures quoted on this site — AQL levels, sizes, thickness, tensile properties, standards such as EN 455, ASTM D3577, ASTM D3578 and ASTM D6319 — describe the product range in general and are subject to normal manufacturing tolerances and to change without notice. The specification that applies to what you actually receive is the one stated on that product’s labelling, its instructions for use, and your accepted order. Batch test certificates are available on request.
Regulatory status differs by country
Licences, registrations and approvals are granted market by market. A product described here is not necessarily registered, approved or available for sale in your country. If you are importing or distributing, it is your responsibility to confirm the regulatory position in your market before you place a product on it. We will supply the documentation you need to do so.

We investigate every report, and serious incidents are reported to the relevant regulatory authority as the law requires.
